KATE McDOWELL : storytelling

As a children's librarian at the Urbana Free Library, Kate was able to develop new material while honing it on the toughest audience out there—children and parents who attended the regular story hour programs. Building on her background in singing and guitar, Kate developed a repertoire of original work she calls Story Songs. These works, often based on traditional folk tales, employ new twists and interesting melodies, leaving children on the edge of their seats.
